IP Phone Reference Design: LE IPP Low-cost Low End IP Phone


The low-cost Low End IP Phone (LE IPP) Reference Design is a complete, fully tested, IP Phone design that enables OEMs to build an IP phone.

The LE IPP has been jointly designed and developed by Texas Instruments
(TI) and Adaptive Digital Technologies, Inc. (Adaptive Digital). See write up EETimes | DSP Resource

The Adaptive Digital Software provided with the LE IPP is a complete SIP phone application, including call control, protocol stack (SIP, TCP/UDP/IP, RTP, STUN), G.711, G.729AB, acoustic echo control, tone handling, and AGC.

TNETV2502 Software Features - Object code w/ no modification

  1. Single voice channel with G.711 and G.729AB codecs

  2. Conferencing handled by the gateway

  3. Additional channels or codecs possible via customization with ADT

  4. RTP packetization with configurable periods of 10, 20, and 30 msec.

  5. Handset support with an Acoustic Echo Suppressor (AES)

  6. Group listen speaker mode with volume control (Not a full duplex speaker phone)

  7. RFC 2833 DTMF relay support

  8. Configurable 100 millisecond jitter buffer.

  9. Tone generation – DTMF or fixed tone for echoing key presses on keypad.
